Thermal insulating fire-resistant pipes

Our company has developed an innovative product for the Ukrainian market – pipe insulation with the G-2 combustibility class. All PE foam pipe insulation has a negative feature: it supports combustion. This means that in the event of an indoor fire, XPE pipe insulation will also spread the fire. According to Building Codes and Regulations (SNIP), it is generally prohibited to use construction materials that support combustion in high buildings, due to the fact that fire extinguishing on high floors will be difficult due to limited access. Therefore, MONOISOL set the task to develop pipe insulation that would comply with SNIPs and would be of flammability class G1-G2. And it would additionally have improved material density and, accordingly, a better thermal insulation coefficient. And we managed to achieve this!
